How to Add & Edit Navigation Menus

  1. In order to create a Menu that can be implemented on a website, we must first navigate to Appearance > Menus as seen here.
  2. Once on the Menus interface, as seen here, you'll see a number of different settings and also the ability to create a menu.
  3. Firstly when reaching the Menu interface, it's recommended to set the Screen Options so that you have access to all options required to make a menu. The recommended options can be seen here or below. It may be that WooCommerce is installed and as such, you should also choose those that will coincide with WooCommerce and the creation of the menu.
    1. Pages
    2. Posts
    3. Templates
    4. Custom Links
    5. Categories
    6. CSS Classes
  4. Once you have sorted out the screen options you can begin to create the menu by choosing a name for your menu as seen here. Once a suitable name for the menu has been chosen, proceed to create the menu.
  5. After the menu has been created you'll now see that on the left-hand side, the options are now available for use as seen here.
  6. To create a simple menu, you'll need some basic pages created (these don't have to include any content within them, just the page creation). A typical menu will consist of:
    1. Home
    2. Shop
    3. About
    4. Contact Us
    5. My Account
    6. Basket

You're able to add Pages or other elements by choosing the Page by ticking the checkbox and then choosing to add to the menu as seen here. Your finished menu should look like the following as seen in this image.

Editing the Navigation Menu

In order to edit the menu that you have just created, you can simply repeat the process to get back to the menu page, and then you can edit, add or remove pages as according. In some cases, there may be additional plugins added to the website that extend the options or settings provided when creating menus.

How to add the Navigation Menu to the website

The navigation menu can be added to the website using our Beaver Builder & Themer plugins that allow frontend drag and drop functionality. We have created a guide for this seen here.
